MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — It turns out that Canadians love bacon a lot more than you may think; this after an Angus Reid For the Love of Bacon survey revealed that 43 per cent of people would choose bacon over sex.
The survey was commissioned by Maple Leaf to celebrate the launch of its newest product innovation, Maple Leaf Reclosable Bacon. “We wanted to probe how deeply rooted Canadians’s passion for bacon is — and the For the Love of Bacon survey sure opened our eyes,” explained Adam Grogan, vice-president of Marketing, Maple Leaf Foods. “Our research also told us that Canadians’s number 1 frustration with typical bacon packaging is that it can’st be re-closed (71 per cent) and that it’s too messy (52 per cent). We know people love bacon, and now with Maple Leaf Reclosable Bacon, they’sll love the package, too.”
The new presentation should be welcome as 73 per cent of respondents said they love bacon and 18 per cent of Canuck men agreed that some days they can’t survive without the crispy breakfast side.
Looks like bacon is the way to almost anyone’s heart.
