PENTICTON, B.C. — Award-winning craft brewer Bad Tattoo Brewery recently released two limited edition craft beers as part of its Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration on Nov. 1st.

“We’re only releasing 1,200 bottles of the 2015 Dia de Los Muertos Cerveza Fuerte and 600 bottles of Dia de Los Muertos La Resurrección,” said Martin Lewis, manager, Bad Tattoo. “Last year we sold out in just over a month and we expect to sellout in under a month this year.”

One of the new brews was created using the uncommon technique of aging the beer in Tennessee Whiskey barrels, allowing it to interact with the residual whisky in the barrels. The resulting beer — Dia de Los Muertos La Resurrección — is infused with notes of dried fruits and warming spices, and will offer the palate underlying flavours of bourbon, oak, vanilla and toasted coconut.

Bad Tattoo’s second release, the Dia de Los Muertos Cerveza Fuerte, offers notes of dried fruits, dates and prunes in the nose. Both of the new releases are characterized as Belgian-style Quadrupel beers.
