ANCASTER, Ont. — Balzac’s Coffee Roasters has partnered with Second Harvest and FoodRescue.ca to donate food from all 14 of its Ontario locations to provide meals to those in need.

Through this partnership, Balzac’s is helping provide immediate hunger relief to individuals and families while recovering fresh, unsold food to reduce food waste. Since June 2018, the café chain has provided 1,134 equivalent meals, with $2,948 worth of food rescued and given back to the local community. The company also reported 152 food rescues to 64 non-profit organizations, which kept 1,762 kg of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere.
