TORONTO — Bartenders from across the country are preparing to compete in the final round of the annual Made-with-Love cocktail competition May 25 at The Everleigh in Toronto.

Fourteen mixologists from seven cities have won regional semi-finals for the chance to compete in the final round, which will focus on the theme “Cocktails Inspired by Art” and be judged based on originality, creativity and taste.

Eight pieces of art will be unveiled at the competition by the graffiti crew, Ready to Rock, and serve as inspiration for the contenders. “The addition of ‘Cocktails-Inspired-by-Art’ concept is a way to demonstrate how art and food are a perfect pairing,” said Pierre-Olivier Trempe, founder, Made with Love.

Participants include: Matteo Caniglia and Mike Shum (Vancouver), Graham Masters and Deanna Breland (Calgary), William Schifke and Ravinder Singh (Winnipeg), Nick Incretolli and Dan Tavares (Toronto), Jonathan Elbaz and Romain Cavelier (Montreal), Patrice Plante and Remy Bernard (Quebec), Michael Hopper and Matthew Boyle (Halifax).
