TORONTO — The world’s largest chain of specialty ice-cream shops has launched ‘do-it-yourself’ sundae and Polar-Pizza kits.

“Sharing a dessert is one of life’s precious moments,” says Natalie Joseph, representative for Baskin-Robbins Canada. “After a long day, especially in these days of confinement, there are few activities more enjoyable than satisfying your sweet tooth in the presence of those around you, especially if it’s interactive and, well, a little messy.”

The sundae kits, which serve up to five, include a choice of two pre-pack flavours, toppings such as fudge, sprinkles, gummy worms and more and traditional whipped cream and cherries. The Polar-Pizza kits come with a pre-pack of ice cream and all the toppings to make a full Polar Pizza that serves up to eight.

The brand also announced the extension of Chocolate Extreme, its dairy-free, plant-based vegan ice cream, as well as Cotton Candy Crackle flavour, both launched in April. Leading up to Mother’s Day, the brand is also highlighting customizable specialty cakes made in-shop

DIY kits are available at participating Baskin-Robbins shops in Ontario and Quebec. Most locations offer delivery through Uber Eats or SkipTheDishes.

To end the month of May, Baskin-Robbins continues its Celebrate 31 program, which offers a 31-per-cent discount on ice-cream pre-packs.
