BRAMPTON, Ont. — Baskin-Robbins has opened its 99th store in Brampton, Ont., as the ice-cream chain continues aggressive expansion into the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Durgesh and Rakesh Sikka own and operate the new location — their third within the Baskin-Robbins system. “Baskin-Robbins has been a great partner for us,” says Durgesh Sikka. “We’ve enjoyed the journey and the support given to us over the years. We’re very enthusiastic about the future and welcome people to come and try us if they haven’t in a while.”
At more than 1,000 sq. ft., the new location features a bright ambience, vibrant colours, seating for 18 and upright display freezers for grab-and-go-style cakes.
Earlier this year, the world’s largest ice-cream specialty shop announced its plans for expansion in Toronto and elsewhere in the GTA, planning 18 new store-development agreements with six new and existing franchise groups.
“We first opened in Brampton in 2003 and the community has been extremely welcoming since day one,” says Natalie Joseph, representative for Baskin-Robbins in Canada.
