WHITBY, Ont. — The Charcoal Group has opened Beertown Public House in Whitby, Ont., marking its 11th location in Canada.
“We just opened our 10th location last year and it feels like we’re surpassing a huge milestone and moving on to something bigger than we ever imagined,” says Jody Palubiski, partner, Charcoal Group. “We’re excited to build off this momentum and to continue our goal of creating a dining revolution.”
For this location, which includes a 5,145 sq. ft. dining room and 806 sq. ft. patio, Charcoal Group has hired approximately 100 new team members of all positions including management, culinary chefs, servers, line cooks, bartenders and hosts.
The Whitby location is a re-purposed former Montana’s location, with a total capacity of 228 seats inside and 60 seats outside. In small or large groups, guests can enjoy an extensive craft beer, non-alcoholic, cocktail and wine selection.
The drink menu will also feature craft options from their signature “Collaboration Nation” offerings, where they work with craft brewers to create bespoke brews. The latest introduction is the first international collaboration, Trial by Muskrat India Pale Ale with Ontario Peaches Beertown and Thin Man based in Buffalo, N.Y.
The diverse menu includes plant-based and gluten-free selections. “People think of us and think of beer, but we’re so much more than that. Our diverse menu ranges from savory, juicy meat options to light and fresh, to gluten-friendly, to delicious plant-based alternatives. There’s something for everyone,” says Todd Clarmo, corporate executive chef, The Charcoal Group.
