TORONTO — The owners of Belly Buster Submarines, a North Toronto sandwich shop, are preparing to open a second location at 389 King St. W. in June.
“The new space will reflect the atmosphere and aesthetic of the original location,” said Page Magen, one of the restaurant partners.
Seating 16 in a 600-sq.-ft.-space, the sandwich shop will offer the brand’s signature subs, including turkey bacon, meatball, cheese steak, chicken and the “Belly Buster” (cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers, salami, roast beef, mushrooms and gravy) with prices ranging from $5.50 to $10. The downtown location will also offer catering options.
The company is planning further expansion in Ontario, into Thornhill, London and Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood. “As we open new locations, there will inevitably be some cosmetic changes and modifications based on the individual venue and neighbourhood, but our goal is to preserve The Belly Buster’s identity and feed more Torontonians with this tried-and-true sub.”
The original location opened in North York at 3447 Yonge St. in 1974.
