TORONTO — Real Sports Bar & Grill cleaned up again during Best Bar None’s (BBN) annual awards ceremonies in Toronto and Ottawa this week, nabbing the Best Bar/Lounge and People’s Choice awards.

Toronto winners include Real Sports Bar & Grill (Best Bar/Lounge and People’s Choice); Turf Lounge (Best Restaurant); Crocodile Rock (Best Club); Fionn MacCool’s on Front St. (Best Pub); The Spoke Club (Best Members Club); Hyatt Regency Toronto on King (Best Hotel); and Air Canada Centre (Best Venue).

Meanwhile, Ottawa’s ByWard Market winners include Real Sports Bar & Grill (Best Bar/Lounge); Fatboys Southern Smokehouse (Best Restaurant); Kavali (Best Club); Pub 101 (Best Pub); Courtyard Marriott (Best Hotel); and The Liquor Store Party Bar/Green Room (People’s Choice).

“All the winners have set high standards and serve liquor responsibly in order to reduce the potential for alcohol-related issues. By developing positive relationships with neighbours, patrons, the city, law enforcement and industry partners, the winners are helping make the community safer and the experience for patrons more enjoyable,” said Tony Elenis, president and CEO of the Ontario Restaurant, Hotel and Motel Association (ORHMA), which leads BBN Ontario.
The awards ceremonies coincided with the launch of new apps for BBN Toronto and BBN Ottawa, which includes information on accredited venues including its address, menu, coupons, a link to social media and even hangover tips and a one-button taxi dialing feature.

Best Bar None is an accreditation program that was founded in the U.K. and has since sprouted to Alberta, Toronto and, most recently, Ottawa. Establishments who are part of the Best Bar None program have successfully demonstrated to a third-party investigator that they serve alcohol responsibly and operate with their patrons’ well-being in mind.
