TORONTO — Bistro 990, a landmark Toronto hangout for Hollywood elite such as Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep, is closing to make way for a 32-storey condo development.

“Yes … it’s closing,” Kyle Kristenbrun, son of the owner, Tom Kristenbrun, told the Toronto Star. “It’s closing, but I don’t know when or anything else about it.”

Although it’s unconfirmed when the restaurant will be shuttered, it will be open through Winterlicious, which ends Thursday, Feb. 9. It’s not known whether the owners will reopen in another location.
