Branca Owners to Open Bronco Restaurant

TORONTO — The owner and chef of Branca restaurant, on Dundas West in Toronto, are expanding their restaurant portfolio with the new slider and snack bar, Branco, reports Toronto Life.

Menu offerings include a choice of 20 sliders with sides of nacho-chili-cheese fries. Plans are in the works for a picnic program, which allows packs of 12 sliders to-go.

Chef Kanida Chey, from the Argentinian-style Branca, studied at George Brown College and apprenticed in the catering kitchen of Mark McEwan’s North 44. Owner, James Bateman, a trained civil engineer with no prior restaurant experience, inspired Branca’s menu-offerings with his love of Argentine cooking and coal-barbecued meat offering.

The 180-seat sports-themed bar is scheduled to open in May. []
