OAK BROOK, Ill. — McDonald’s is testing a $4.99 Combo Bag in select Georgia stores, according to U.S-based Burger Business.

The new combo provides a “meat-and-two-sides” option to its Dollar Menu. The $4.99 DIY bag gives customers the option to choose a sandwich (Double Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheddar McChicken, Bacon Ranch McChicken or Bacon McDouble), two side dishes (medium fries, four-piece Chicken McNuggets, side salad or pie/sundae) and a beverage (medium soft drink; sweet tea or bottled water).

The new Combo Bag is in line with the company’s goal to simplify its menu.“We are evaluating the relationship between pricing and quality perception across our menu board, and that’s because value is one of our grand pillars,” Don Thompson, CEO, said in a July conference call. [burgerbusiness.com]
