Burger King is growing its offerings and its locations with news this week that it’s reached a milestone in its global expansion and is revamping two traditional menu favourites in Canada.

Miami-based Burger King Worldwide has announced the opening of the first Burger King restaurant in India. The New Delhi store also marks the 100th country within which the brand operates. “It is fitting that the celebration of our 100th country is happening in India, a vibrant and exciting marketplace,” said Elias Diaz Sese, president, BK Asiapac, Pte. Ltd.

The new restaurant is equipped with a dual production line with vegetarian and non-vegetarian products. It will offer new products such as The Vegetarian Whopper, The Chicken Whopper and Chicken Tandoor Grill. The restaurant opening in New Delhi is expected to be followed by additional openings in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Montreal-based Burger King Canada is revamping the classic poutine with its new Poutine la Burger, which boasts fries smothered with cheese curds and gravy topped with beef, mustard, ketchup and pickles. The chain has also launched the new Ultimate Original Chicken Sandwich, a spin on the classic; it features a breaded chicken filet garnished with tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise and pickles on a sesame-seed bun.
