The Cajun Blackened and Blue Burger is comprised of a blackened beef patty that’s sautéed with seasoning (red, black and white pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ground coriander and sugar), topped with blue cheese, lettuce, onion and Cajun mayo, on a kaiser roll.
1 kaiser roll, toasted
1 beef patty
5 ml (1 tsp) red pepper
15 ml (1tbsp) black pepper
15 ml (1 tbsp) white pepper
15 ml (1 tbsp) garlic powder
15 ml (1 tbsp) onion powder
15 ml (1 tbsp) ground coriander
30 ml (2 tbsp) sugar
28 g (1 oz) blue cheese, crumbled
28 g (1 oz) lettuce
1 onion slice
28 g (1 oz) mayonnaise
Combine red, black and white pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, coriander and sugar to make Cajun seasoning. Mix well.
Dust beef patty with one teaspoon of blackening spice blend on both sides.
Sauté burger to desired doneness. Melt blue cheese on top.
Combine mayonnaise and 50ml (1/4 cup) of Cajun seasoning to make Cajun mayo sauce. Mix well.
Spread Cajun mayonnaise on top and bottom bun and assemble burger.
