Calgary Chefs Compete to Create Best Burger

0

CALGARY — YYC Burger Week is underway in Calgary with some of the best restaurants battling to earn the title of best burger, while donating 10 per cent of the proceeds to local charities.

Last year, 16 restaurants took place in the challenge, with more than $6,300 funds raised for charities. This year, 30 restaurants will participate in the burger battle with creative delicacies such as the Bran Lake Wagyu Burger with roasted garlic, mushroom and chili duxelle percorino on a house-made pretzel bun from Craft Beer Market and The Sunnyside Flipp with gouda, sautéed mushrooms, peppers and onions topped with an egg and a smoke sauce from Flipp’n Burgers.

Customers can vote for their favourite burger — in $10, $15 and a $20 price categories — at yycburgerweek.ca.

The competition ends May 10.
