TORONTO — The 2019 list of Canada’s Best-Managed Companies has been released. This year’s edition recognized several food-and-beverage companies among its recipients.
Among the companies joining the list for the first year were Markham, Ont.-based Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters; Toronto’s Gusto 54 Restaurant Group; and Woodstock, N.B.-based Franchise Management Inc.
Returning companies — those appearing on the list for a second or third year in a row — included Quail’s Gate Winery in West Kelowna, B.C. and Vancouver-based Tap & Barrel Restaurants.
Finally, three restaurant companies were featured in the list’s Platinum category, which honours companies that have appeared on the list seven or more years in a row. These companies include Boston Pizza International Inc., Cactus Restaurants Ltd. and White Spot Ltd.
Now in its 26th year, Canada’s Best-Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business awards programs recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies for innovative, world-class business practices.
The 2019 winners of the Canada’s Best-Managed Companies award will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best-Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 17. The complete list of 2019 winners is available here.
