HALIFAX — The winners of the 2018 Canadian Brewing Awards were recently announced at the 16th-annual Canadian Brewing Awards & Conference, held at the Halifax Convention Centre from May 24 to 26.
The awards recognized Bronze-, Silver- and Gold-medal beers in 55 categories, as well as the competition’s top brewery and beer. Quebec-based Brasserie Mille-Îles’ English Brown Ale was named Best of Show, while B.C.’s Dageraad Brewing received the award for Brewery of the Year.

Gold-medal Experimental Beer — Ouaouaron (Microbrasserie du Lac-Saint-Jean)
Gold-medal Gluten-Free Beer — Glutenberg Blanche (Microbrasserie Glutenberg)
Gold-medal North American Style Pale Ale — Armed ‘N Secret (Rainhard Brewing)
Gold-medal Cream Ale — Westcott Cream Ale (The Grove Brew House)
Gold-medal Porter — Coalbanks Porter (Coulee Brew Co.)
Gold-medal Wheat Beer – German Style (Weiss) — Roundhouse Wheat (Yaletown Brewing Co.)
Gold-medal European Style Lager (Pilsner) — Purity Pilsener (Walkerville Brewery)
