VANCOUVER – The steering committee for The Canadian Chefs’ Congress has announced the home site for its 2010 event. The next sitting of the congress is being hosted on Sept. 11, 2010 at Providence Farm in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. The event takes place over two days and much debate and conversation, sessions, seminars and workshops will revolve around the theme, Oceans for Tomorrow, as the foodservice industry promotes the sustainability of our waters. Dr. David Suzuki will provide the keynote address.

Alongside chefs from across the country, many members of the sustainable fisheries industry will be on hand at the sitting to open a dialogue about the challenges they face and how they can work together with chefs and restaurants to help preserve our oceans and still help bring incredible seafood to Canadian diners. Local producers and suppliers will also be attending the event, championing the local-food movement and showing off the best of B.C. product. Delegate packages for the Congress are $200.
