“You don’st need to be a Bubbie (or grandmother) or even have a Bubbie to enter the competition. All you need is balls — matzoh balls, that is,” said deli owner, Zane Caplansky, in a press release.
The competitors are being challenged to serve up bubbie-inspired “cannon” or “fluffy” balls to be evaluated by a panel of renowned judges, including media maven Moses Znaimer, cookbook author Bonnie Stern and journalist David Sax.
The competition, along with a new menu unveiling, will take place Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. at Caplansky’s 356 College Street location.
Matzoh ball aficionados can pre-register by contacting Caplansky at [email protected] or (416) 500-3852.
