TORONTO — The original location of Caplansky’s Deli — located on College Street in Toronto — has closed.
Owner Zane Caplansky announced the closure via Twitter, posting a photo of a letter displayed in the deli’s window. “I am making this decision with tremendous sadness and reluctance,” the letter reads.
Though the reason for the decision is not explicitly stated, in the letter, Caplansky notes that the deli, which opened in 2009, “never really recovered” following a dispute with the location’s landlord in 2016.
The Yorkville and Person International Airport locations of Caplansky’s Deli will remain open.
