TORONTO — Captain John’s restaurant is set to be towed away from its Lake Ontario spot at the foot of Yonge Street this morning.

The floating restaurant was sold to the Marine Recycling Corporation earlier this month after standing unused for years. Captain John’s originally filed for bankruptcy protection in 2002. John Letnik, who owned the former cruise ship, fell behind on rent and taxes in 2012, and it was shut down.

Tugboats are set to tow the ship at 10 a.m. across Lake Ontario, arriving at the Marine Recycling Corporation via the Welland Canal.
