Carlton Mushroom Recalls Sliced White Mushrooms Prepared for Metro Brands

OTTAWA — Carlton Mushroom is recalling sliced white mushrooms prepared for Metro Brands from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The product has been sold in Ontario and Quebec and may have been distributed in other provinces and territories.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled, but it can still make people sick. Symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness.

Recalled products should either be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
