SASKATOON — Saskatoon’s fish-and-chips mainstay Gibson’s Fish and Chips will be leaving its post at 8th St. E. after decades in business as developers prepare to bulldoze the restaurant. According to the CBC, the shop will reopen in a new location.

The restaurant, which turned 50 last year, was not only a prime spot for patrons celebrating Good Friday, but it’s a favourite for regular customers who have patronized the eatery since its opening in 1964. “It’s pretty emotional,” owner Jonathan Gibson told CBC. “It’s exciting, because we’re moving to a new place, but yeah, it’s emotional.”

A new location has not yet been found. [cbc.ca]
