WATERLOO, Ont. — Charcoal Group of Restaurants has announced expansion plans that will see the Waterloo, Ont.-based company open four new outposts of its Beertown Public House concept over the next 12 months.

“The Charcoal Group is continuing to grow and, after many successful years in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, we are expanding our reach and growing into new markets,” says Jody Palubiski, CEO of the Charcoal Group of Restaurants. “We’re very excited to reach more communities and share our hospitality philosophy and craft beer revolution with them.”

The first new location is expected to open in Oakville, Ont. in July. The second opening will be a location in Toronto — on the corner of University Avenue and Wellington Street — which is slated to open this fall and will mark the company’s first restaurant in Greater Toronto Area.

The remaining two Beertown locations are scheduled to open in Barrie and Guelph, Ont. in early 2020.

“Beertown is truly a unique dining experience and there’s something for everyone at the table when they visit us,” says Palubiski. “We’re really looking forward to expanding our team and growing our roots in so many new places.”

Beertown is a modern beer-bar concept offering unique craft beer programs, including Thursday Night Cask-Conditioned releases; a rotating bottle and draught portfolio; one-off and exclusive product releases; and beer dinners with guest chefs and brewmasters. The brand currently boasts four locations in Ontario, including London, Cambridge, Burlington and Waterloo.
