MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – This month hospitality company Obsidian Group Inc. presented an early holiday gift, a cheque worth $13,500, to a Mississauga-based youth charity.

The donation consisted of all proceeds from the Crabby Joe’s Tap & Grill and Coffee Culture Café & Eatery third annual golf classic tournament. Obsidian Group Inc., the franchisor for Crabby Joe’s Tap & Grill, sought out The Dam charity for its mandate of working with at-risk youth.

“We chose to support The Dam because we wanted our donation to help a charity in the community where we do business,” said Nicolas Patiniotis, president of Obsidian Group Inc. “The Dam does extraordinary work helping at-risk youth, and we are very happy to support their efforts through our annual charity golf tournament.”

In addition to fostering a safe and welcoming environment, The Dam also provides mentorship opportunities, and programs that focus on social, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being.

The Dam executive director, Carol Reist, expressed her happiness upon receiving the donation. “We are thrilled to receive this donation, as it will help us continue to offer programs helping at-risk youth reach their fullest potential,” she said.
