After scouring the globe for the best classic and unique restaurants in Paris, London, New York and Botswana, Toronto’s own underground dining club earned a spot on the list. Charlie’s Burger earned praise for daring to be different by asking guests detailed dining questions before granting them a reservation to eat at an undisclosed ever-evolving venue. BarChef earned a mention for originality, too, with a specific nod to its $45 smoked Manhattan.
Other winners included Cantina in Berlin, The Boundary in London, Market Fresh Bistro in Maui, Hawaii and Planet Baobab in Botswana, Africa.
