VANCOUVER — Ned Bell has joined the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre team as the organization’s Ocean Wise executive chef.

Bell is an avid advocator for sustainable seafood and has partnered with the aquarium’s Ocean Wise program on several occasions. With the support of Ocean Wise, Bell created Chefs for Oceans in 2014 to raise awareness about sustainable seafood by riding his bike across Canada.

“We have long been partners with chef Ned Bell in the fight against overfishing,” says John Nightingale, president and CEO of Vancouver Aquarium. “Having him officially join our team as executive chef will strengthen and expand our national Ocean Wise program and further elevate our culinary experience at the Vancouver Aquarium.”

In addition to helping further expand the Ocean Wise conservation program across Canada, Bell will lead the culinary team at the Vancouver Aquarium, which is one of Vancouver’s most coveted venues for special events and conferences.

Bell joins the Vancouver Aquarium from the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and Yew Seafood + Bar. His diverse culinary background also includes seven seasons on Food Network Canada’s Cook Like a Chef.

Chef Bell officially joins the team at Vancouver Aquarium and its nationwide Ocean Wise sustainable seafood conservation program on July 4th.
