QUIDI VIDI VILLAGE, N.L. — Chef Todd Perrin, owner of Mallard Cottage near St. John’s, is preparing to expand his culinary business into a neighbouring building.
According to CBC News, the chef has applied to turn the former Flake House Restaurant in Quidi Vidi village into a foodservice establishment. “It’s one of the most iconic properties, certainly in eastern Newfoundland, and the potential for it is spectacular,” he told CBC. The chef proposes the building will be demolished and replaced with a two-storey building containing a restaurant and catering operations on the bottom floor and administrative offices on the second floor.
