NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Chipotle Mexican Grill has increased restaurant wages in its Canadian locations, resulting in a $15 minimum hourly rate in its Ontario restaurants and $16 minimum hourly rate in its B.C. restaurants.

In addition, Chipotle’s crew members can advance to a restaurateur title — the highest general manager position — in as little as three-and-a-half years, with an average compensation of more than $100,000. Chipotle also recently introduced a $200 referral bonus for employees who refer a crew member and a $750 referral bonus for employees who refer an apprentice or general manager in Canada.

“We’re committed to providing industry-leading benefits and accelerated growth opportunities, and we hope to attract even more talent by showcasing the potential income that can be achieved in a few short years,” says Anat Davidzon, managing director, Chipotle Canada. “Chipotle is looking for people who are authentic, passionate and want to help cultivate a better world through real food and real personal development.”

Moreover, until August 29, Chipotle will offer guests in Canada free delivery on the Chipotle app and Chipotle.ca. The brand is also accelerating its growth in Canada, with the first Chipotlane, a drive-thru digital order-pickup lane, in Port Coquitlam, B.C. to open this fall. An additional six restaurants in B.C. and Ontario will open before the end of the year.
