MONTREAL — Chocolats Geneviève Grandbois (CGG) and Cacao 70 — two big names in gourmet chocolate in Quebec — will now be working together.

As part of a long-term collaboration agreement, CGG will produce and further develop Cacao 70’s bean-to-bar collection, as well as other lines of chocolate products, and in turn, Cacao 70 will provide business-development support to CGG.

“Thanks to this collaboration, I’ll be making a long-time dream and business vision come true: producing vertically integrated, ethical artisan chocolate, from the plantation to the finished gourmet product,” says Geneviève Grandbois.

Cacao 70 co-founder Yingzhi Wang, says, while the partnership may seem unusual, it will be mutually beneficial for both parties.

“We’re very proud to be partnering with a chocolatier of this calibre and reputation,” says Wang. “For our part, we will be transferring our bean-to-bar production knowledge and recipes to Chocolats Geneviève Grandbois. We’ll also share our expertise to develop their boutique and product-distribution networks, as well as their cacao-bean imports.”
