TORONTO — Toronto’s King West neighbourhood has become home to Cibo Wine Bar, an Italian restaurant that has been recognized as “Marchio Ospitalita Italiana,” by the Italian government for employing the highest standard of Italian authenticity.

The 200-seat space at 522 King St. W. is designed to be rustic, yet elegant — a design achieved using wood, stone and metal finishes and accents, exposed brick and butcher tabletops. And, the chef’s offerings are also seeped in rustic traditionalism, with pasta and bread produced in-house. “Our menu is simple. It is mainly created around homemade ingredients, local produce and fresh spices,” says Massimo Giannattasio, the chef. “The menu has been created to offer patrons a true taste of Italian cuisine.”

Cibo Wine Bar, which is owned by Toronto’s Liberty Entertainment Group, is also open in Toronto’s Yorkville and Miami (pictured). A fourth location is expected to open in South Beach Miami in the fall.
