VANCOUVER — From Sept. 12 to 20, Cobs Bread will be donating $1 from every Higher Fibre and Whole Wheat loaf sold to Breakfast Club of Canada (The Club) — a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funding and services for school breakfast programs in communities across the country.

“Both Cobs Bread and The Club believe every child deserves a healthy breakfast,” says Tanya Hook, marketing manager at Cobs Bread. “With one in seven children going to school without breakfast, The Club needs support to help turn the number of hungry, distracted children in the classroom to learning, happy students.”

Last year’s campaign raised more than $42,000 and provided more than 25 million breakfasts to students. This year’s goal is to raise more than $75,000. In addition to the Cobs Cares fundraiser, many Cobs Bread bakeries also donate leftover bread at the end of the day to support a breakfast program.

“We are so pleased to have Cobs Bread as a partner. Not only is the relationship beneficial to The Club and our students, but our core values align in that we both believe in serving nutritious products to growing children.” Josee Desjardins, senior director Western Canada, Breakfast Club of Canada.
