VICTORIA — British Columbia chefs are preparing to pair the art of colour and food by creating a unique canapé at the 5th annual Colour Your Palate fundraiser for ArtsReach, an OCTA Collective Society program where children learn life skills through art.
Prior to the competition, chefs will be asked to choose a colour, which will serve as the inspiration for the canapé they create. Winners will be named for Most Colourful Creation and Best Tasting Creation. There will also be a People’s Choice award and a Judge’s Award.This year’s judges are: Eric Akis, B.C.-based food columnist; Gary Hynes, publisher of Eat magazine and Denise Marchessault, proprietor of French Mint cooking school.
The event will be held at the Hotel Grand Pacific in Victoria on April 3 at 5:30 p.m. For more details, visit octacollective.com.
