MONTREAL — Monarque, the long-awaited new restaurant by Jérémie and Richard Bastien, has announced it will hold its grand opening on September 4.

In an announcement made on social media, the restaurant indicated it will be soft launching in the evenings from August 30 to September 1, before ramping up to offer both lunch and dinner service.

Monarque, which has been in the works for approximately five years, will offer a brasserie and dining room, as well as private dining room.

Helmed by Jérémie Bastien, the restaurant will offer French-leaning seasonal menus, with offerings such as sea trout gravlax with smoked sour cream, marinated onions and trout caviar ($16); braised lamb with polenta and goat cheese ($39); spice-rubbed quail with tomatoes, olives and romesco sauce ($16); and house-made herb farfalle with wild shrimp, tomatoes, garlic and chili ($17).
