TORONTO — Canadian restaurateurs looking to grow their budding empires should take note, as registration is now open for the 2nd annual Canadian Restaurant Investment Summit (CRIS), an investment and economic conference designed to help restaurateurs, lenders and investors make better investment decisions.

The opening plenary session will look at how the economy will affect the growth of the Canadian restaurant industry. Presentations will be followed by interactive on-stage discussion with senior-level executives from The Second Cup Ltd.; Boston Pizza; Cara Operations Limited and Moxie’s Classic Grill. The afternoon plenary session will feature Tom Gaglardi, president, Northland Properties Corporation, in conversation with CBC’s senior business correspondent Amanda Lang. Gaglardi will share his insights on challenges and opportunities facing Canadian restaurant owners and operators.

The program includes seven breakout sessions throughout the day on topics ranging from real estate to brand lifecycles to the Canadian lending environment.

This year’s event, which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in downtown Toronto, opens with a reception in the evening of April 13; the conference and workshops follow April 14. For more information, click here.
