WINNIPEG — Winnipeg restaurant owners should be aware of a possible string of portable debit terminal frauds that may affect their businesses, according to CTV News.
Police are warning restaurant owners that two suspects have targeted restaurants in Brandon, Man., and Saskatchewan by distracting the employee and swapping out the wireless, portable debit terminal with a stolen terminal, before crediting the funds to their debit or credit cards.
Authorities recommend operators keep point-of-sale devices safely behind the counter and out of sight. [winnipeg.ctvnews.ca]
