TORONTO — Cupcake is gearing up for the summer months by introducing a light and easy-to-drink Chardonnay option to its portfolio of premium, award-winning California wines. Cupcake LightHearted Chardonnay is a vegan, gluten-free and low-carb medium-bodied wine, with just 100 calories, eight per cent ALC/VOL, and less than one gram of sugar per 6oz. serving.
The wine offers a combination of flavours including fresh-cut pineapple, ripe pear and faint aromas of toasted oak and vanilla.
“I created Cupcake LightHearted after realizing there wasn’t a lower-calorie and lower-alcohol wine option on the market that was delicious and complemented my active lifestyle,” says Jessica Tomei, winemaker for Cupcake Vineyards. “I’m an avid runner, and some days I want something that’s lower in calories and alcohol but doesn’t sacrifice flavour. Cupcake LightHearted checks all the boxes.”
The wine is currently available in Ontario and select private retailers across British Columbia and will arrive in other regions over the next few weeks.
