Curtis Luk Named Executive Chef at Cibo Trattoria


VANCOUVER — Curtis Luk has been named the new executive chef at Cibo Trattoria in Vancouver, according to The Georgia Straight.

The former Top Chef Canada contestant and Mission restaurant owner is bringing his contemporary style to both Cibo and its sister establishment, Uva Wine and Cocktail Bar (UVA).

Luk has already introduced a number of new menu items at Cibo, including tagliatelle with duck ragu, mushrooms and parmigiano reggiano; duck breast in dolce forte, pine nut and caramelized radish; and gnocchi with sweetbreads, gorgonzola and apple.

He has also refreshed Uva’s offerings, introducing bruschetta with garlic, roasted eggplant and green chickpeas; and arancini with porcini mushroom and mushroom jam.
