TORONTO — After a year of layoffs, financial constraints and ultimately flirting with filing for bankruptcy, Dave & Buster’s has bounced back and is going on a hiring spree.
According to Global Data, last year, between June 2020 and April 2021, Dave & Buster’s posted 300 jobs, compared with around 2,000 jobs in the two months following.
“After a tough 2020, when Dave & Buster’s saw itself at the brink of filing bankruptcy, the company has bounced back. It is focusing on staffing requirements and designated an estimated $5 million for hiring programs and retention incentives in Q2 2021,” says Ajay Thalluri, business fundamentals analyst at Global Data.
Most of the jobs advertised are entry roles, including barmen, line cooks, waiters, captains and tech support.
