BURNABY, B.C. — Restaurateur Frank Di Benedetto has reportedly purchased Surrey-B.C.-based ABC Country Restaurants, a chain of more than 25 casual eateries across B.C. and Alberta.

Through his company, Frankie’s Family Restaurants Ltd., Di Benedetto owns Ricky’s All Day Grill, with more than 70 franchised locations and the master franchise rights in Canada for Fatburger, which has 35 locations (mainly in Western Canada).

Including the acquisition of ABC Country Restaurants, Di Benedetto now operates more than 130 family eateries mostly in B.C. and Alberta, with a few locations in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and the Yukon. He plans to open 17 additional Ricky’s and Fatburgers by the end of 2015.

This September, Frankie’s Family Restaurants will re-brand to FDK Restaurant Brandz.
