VANCOUVER — The Dine Out Vancouver Festival broke records in its 14th year, with more than 84,000 customers seated (a 14.8-per-cent increase year over year).
As part of the food-and-drink festival, which included events and education sessions, Vancouver-area restaurants offered multi-course dinners priced at $20, $30 or $40. This year’s festival contributed more than $4 million to the local economy (a 34.6-per-cent increase in revenue year-over-year), plus 2.2 million online visits to the Dine Out menu.
The festival also showcased Vancouver’s multiculturalism with culinary experiences inspired by Germany, India, Italy and more. “Dine Out Vancouver has become a premier event in our city,” says Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson. “Over the past 14 years, it has grown into a strong economic driver for the city as well as a showcase of our world-class culinary offerings — and it continues to get better every year. I can’t wait to see what Dine Out’s organizers come up with in 2017.”
