LOUISVILLE, Ky — The Sustainable Table: Distinguished Innovations in Dining will be the theme of the 21st Annual Conference of the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA), which will be held Nov. 7 to Nov. 9 at The Westin Verasa Napa, in Napa, Calif.
New Canadian members include Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Mississauga, Ont.; Toula Ristorante and Bar, Toronto; Edo, Toronto; and Allen’s Restaurant, Bar and Backyard, Toronto.
Allen’s will be DiRoNA’s inaugural Legendary Landmark member for its comfort food and legendary regional fare. Restaurants in this category are distinguished by local flair and a rich history, with a menu and atmosphere that appeals to locals and is prized by visitors seeking authentic regional fare.The 23-year old Allen’s Restaurant features traditional Irish music and dance with a menu that includes oak-smoked salmon on soda bread, Dublin lamb shank braised in Guinness and a Cumbrae veal loin chop with grilled endive. The traditional decor features tin ceilings, oak plank floors and wood panelling.
DiRoNA, an independent, non-profit organization, was established in 1990 and is comprised of 800 members in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
