Eleven Foodservice Insiders to be Inducted into B.C. Restaurant Hall of Fame

VANCOUVER — The team at the British Columbia Restaurant & Foodservices Association (BCRFA) are gearing up for the B.C. Restaurant Hall of Fame awards presentation, which will honour 11 industry insiders Sept. 30 at Vancouver’s Italian Cultural Centre.

Since its inception in 2004, 88 individuals have been inducted into the BCRFA Hall of Fame, which honours professionals in food, wine and service in a range of cuisine types and concepts.

This year’s inductees include: Jeff Donnelly – founder and president, The Donnelly Group; Paul Smolen, owner, Hart House Restaurant and Sean Heather, owner, Heather Hospitality Group in the Active Restaurateur category.

Other category winners include Julian Bond, executive chef, VP and COO of the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts as an Industry Award inductee; Christine Coletta, owner, Coletta & Associates Okanagan Crush Pad as a Friends of the Industry inductee; John Neate Jr., founder, JJ Bean Coffee Roasters in the Coffee and Beverage category; and Wally Shaw, the late founder of the B.C. Chef’s Association in the Pioneer category.
