TORONTO — Top chefs and rising culinary stars from across Canada will meet in the spring as The Escoffier Society of Toronto holds its annual culinary salon at the CRFA Show at the Direct Energy Centre, from March 4 to 5.

“The Salon is a three-day event where top chefs and culinary apprentices compete and showcase their culinary artistry,” explains Robert Roberge, Chair of the event.

The 2012 salon is broken into categories, including buffet platters, tapas platters, chocolate works and vegetable carving. And, this year there are several cash prizes for professional and novice chefs, such as $500 for best use of cheese and $500 for best use of vanilla in a savory recipe.

Founded in 1960, the Escoffier Society of Toronto is a non-profit group dedicated to promoting professional chefs and cooks. For salon competition details, visit ccfcc.ca
