VANCOUVER — Just in time for the new year — and all the weight-loss resolutions — The Vancouver Sun has created a ‘Fatabase’ with nutritional information culled from 64 B.C. chain restaurants.
The search engine, comprised of a collection of information already available on many restaurant websites, highlights several interesting food facts. Ribs, nachos, twist bread, wings and onion rings, for example, rank among the fattiest resto menu items in B.C.
The database offers daily recommended dietary allowances and measures the following nutritional information for each selected menu item: calories, fat, saturated fat, trans fat, sodium, carbs, fibre, sugars and protein intake.
