TORONTO — A throng of celebrity chefs are gearing up to compete in the second annual Chef’s Challenge to be held at Toronto’s Metro Convention Centre from Nov. 26 to 27.
Hosted by Bobby Flay, the event will raise funds for breast and ovarian cancer research at Mount Sinai Hospital. The event, which can accommodate 500 guests, will allow the top 60 fundraisers to compete alongside a cast of celebrity chefs, including Chuck Hughes, David Rocco, Lynn Crawford, Mark McEwan, Massimo Capra, Nadia G and Rose Reisman. Participants must raise a minimum of $2,600 to attend the event, which includes a five-course dinner and wine pairings selected by Flay.
Top fundraisers will be split into teams to work under a Food Network celebrity chef team leader and create a three-course meal that will be judged by the panel and scored on taste, presentation and the participant’s ability to withstand the pressure of Flay’s kitchen.
Last year, $1.1 million was raised at the event.
