Food Critic Reveals Resto Pet Peeves

MONTREAL — Quebec food critic Lesley Chesterman has revealed her top 20 list of restaurant annoyances in a special report in the Montreal Gazette.

One complaint was “stinginess.” Chesterman explains: “Once upon a time in restaurants, diners were offered little extras called amuse-bouches (bite-sized nibbles served before the meal) and mignardises (bite-sized nibbles post dessert). Haven’t seen those in ages.”

Her other pet peeves include unfriendly hostesses, waiters who keep asking how the meal is going, the use of too much salt and many others. For the complete list, visit montrealgazette.com.
