TORONTO — The Canadian restaurant industry will be well represented next week, when foodservice stalwarts like A&W Food Services of Canada, McDonald’s Restaurants Canada and The Cora Franchise Group, along with some 300 other franchising leaders and support service professionals, descend on the Quebec resort town of Mont Tremblant for the 2010 CFA National Convention.

Paul Hollands, president and CEO of A&W Food Services, is scheduled to speak on Monday, May 3 at 9 a.m. to share his insights on building a great brand and a great franchise business through any economic cycle.

For those who prefer more of an Oscar-awards type feel, the three-day event will also play host to awards presentations like the CFA Award of Excellence in Franchising, at a special dinner, Monday, May 3. The selection process is based on a comprehensive survey of franchisor performance by franchisees across Canada, with 31 companies vying for the prestigious award.
