Food-related Illness Traced to Ontario Druxy’s

HAMILTON — Public health officials in Hamilton, Ont., are attributing a recent outbreak of gastrointestinal illness to a Druxy’s Famous Deli Sandwiches in the city’s downtown core, the Hamilton Spectator reports.

According to newspaper, the deli was closed Thursday, Dec. 16 after 33 people reported falling ill after consuming Druxy’s products at a corporate Christmas party. Public health officials believe the illness was spread by two workers who handled food while they were sick, effectively infecting all party guests.
