TORONTO — Two of Toronto’s largest organic delivery companies have successfully merged under the Fresh City name.
“Welcoming Front Door Organics (FDO) customers to Fresh City means we can further enhance our service and get more local, clean food on GTA tables,” says Ran Goel, CEO and founder of Fresh City. “That’s something both companies are extremely passionate about.”
Founded in 2011, Fresh City is a certified B Corporation which sources its products directly from more than 80 farmers and producers across Ontario. Today, it is the largest organic meal-delivery company in Canada, delivering produce, groceries, recipe kits, salad jars and smoothies to both residential and commercial locations.
Front Door Organics, one of Toronto’s first organic delivery companies, was co-founded by Angela Donnelly and JJ Sheppard. Following the acquisition, Donnelly will assume the title of CFO at the new Fresh City in May.
“FDO has been a pioneer of the local food movement since 1997,” says Donnelly. “We’re excited to build on that and help advance the local food economy even further at Fresh City.”
